Since the 1990s, street culture has captivated the youth.
At the center of the scene is Kazuki Kuraishi, the brand director of "THE FOURNESS," who has shaped Tokyo culture. The style he has arrived at, evolving with the times and his own growth, is the "formal" THE FOURNESS style. It features sophisticated designs that can be worn without effort and exude elegance. Clothing that fits well into the modern society with diverse individuals, suitable for any scene from casual to formal use. Furthermore, it maintains a commitment to functionality and quality, drawing beautiful lines that do not assert themselves too strongly.

"Clothes that can be accepted by anyone in a wide range of scenes, yet highlight the individual's personality. The age I envision may be based on myself, but I want various people to wear them if they can. I aim to create clothing that expresses individuality."
(Kazuki Kuraishi)

Are you familiar with the psychologist C.G. Jung?
Jung believed that the fundamental elements that compose this world are always made up of "4," with the circle = ○ being the ideal shape of the world, and the minimum division that composes it being "4" = □. He thought that in the human mind, there are four psychological functions: "emotion, intuition, thinking, and sensation"... and the type of person is determined by which function is most active. Resonating with Jung's ideas, brand director Kazuki Kuraishi started "THE FOURNESS" aiming for clothing that resonates with each psychological function.

With the theme of "universality that brings out individuality," the interpretation can vary from person to person. What kind of clothing brings out the wearer's personality... Kazuki Kuraishi's unique curiosity about fashion has given birth to "THE FOURNESS."

"According to Dr. Jung, humans have four psychological functions: 'thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition,' which he called 'FOURNESS.' What I thought here was that I wanted to create clothing that could be worn by people with any of these four strong elements. I want to make a brand that can be worn by anyone, at any time, depending on how they wear it, so I named the brand 'THE FOURNESS.'"
(Kazuki Kuraishi)

THE FOURNESS
2016 SPRING & SUMMER Collection
The atmosphere of the 2016 Spring/Summer collection is inspired by Southern Italy/Naples. Compared to the urban and tight Northern regions, the relaxed Southern regions, which also have luxury resorts, typically feature tailored jackets without lining or shoulder pads. Items that pursue comfort while capturing the essence of Southern Italy will be lined up. Incidentally, the designer Kazuki Kuraishi was inspired by the movie 'TRACKS' (Japanese title: 'Miracle of 2000 Miles'), which tells the story of a woman traveling through a vast desert with a camel and her beloved dog. The keywords are said to be found within this film.
