We have added a gentle gray dye extracted from bamboo charcoal to the classic black from botanical dyeing, navy from indigo dyeing, and the traditional gray from sumi dyeing that has been available since last year.
'COTTON LAWN Series'
This is an original lawn material from Aton, made from fine yarns of American Supima cotton, woven in Hamamatsu City, and finished with garment dyeing, featuring a glossy feel and supple movement.
In Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, we achieved a sumi black using a special natural dye, and in Kameoka City, we used true indigo dyeing (KYOTO INDIGO) to repeatedly dye the product, resulting in a deep navy color known as "Tomekon". In Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, we dyed the product with sumi dyeing to express a deep gray reminiscent of a sumi-e painting.
*NATURAL DYE refers to dyes made from the flowers, leaves, stems, bark, peels of plants, or minerals, using innovative ideas and techniques without mordants. In traditional plant dyeing, vivid colors may not be achieved, and colors may fade. Aton uses a unique dyeing method that overcomes these issues, allowing you to experience the products with both your mind and skin through 'NATURAL DYE'.
Sumi Dyeing
It is said to have been introduced to Japan from the Korean Peninsula during the Asuka period, and for about 1300 years, sumi has been made using soot from burning pine trees, using the same method as in ancient times in Nara. This sumi is not only used for paper but has also been made into a dye for fabric using modern techniques. Aton's sumi dyeing features a unique hue that cannot be produced with regular chemical dyes, with complex shades of gray overlapping like a sumi-e painting.

KYOTO INDIGO
This is indigo dyed with Ryukyu indigo made in Okinawa, dyed with Kyoto water. Ryukyu indigo is a perennial plant from the foxglove family that grows in mountainous terrain and humid areas, and is different in both vegetation and manufacturing method from the commonly produced indigo (Tadeai) in Japan. It is referred to as sediment indigo because only the precipitate after fermentation is used, resulting in a color with less redness and retaining the antibacterial properties characteristic of indigo. The dye made from this Ryukyu indigo, dyed in Kyoto, is a unique indigo known as "KYOTO INDIGO."

This is a silk twill material dyed with NATURAL DYE at a dye factory in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. Plant-based dyeing has been made possible through a dyeing method that stands apart from traditional plant dyeing, allowing for vibrant colors and deep expressions while minimizing environmental pollution and the consumption of raw materials for dyes. Being 100% silk, it is very elegant, wrinkle-resistant, and convenient for travel. All products come with a storage bag.

This is an original material from Aton, made from high-density nylon taffeta woven in Fukui City, dyed with sumi dye in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, expressing a deep gray color reminiscent of a sumi-e painting. The moderate luster and crispness of the nylon taffeta provide comfort.

This is an original jersey material knitted from hand-picked organic cotton yarn from India, using a special knitting machine in Wakayama City. The "Awa indigo" cultivated over a year by a sixth-generation indigo craftsman, benefiting from the fertile soil brought by the Yoshino River flowing gently through the Tokushima Plain, is used. Each piece is dyed individually by a Kyoto indigo dye artist, resulting in a unique hue with complex depth and astringency that cannot be achieved with chemical dyes.
