Wundwekammer Vol.2【Gina's Surprise Ball】
2023.04.22 / WUNDWEKAMMER
Gina's surprise ball is coming from New Mexico!
Special version available exclusively at Wunderkammer.
-What's Surprise ball!?-
It's a ball made by wrapping small toys in colorful crepe tape (a thin tape made from crepe paper, often used as a material for artificial flowers). As you unwrap the tape, the toys hidden inside gradually appear. A popular party item given on birthdays and Christmas, it combines gift wrapping with entertainment in a handcrafted way.
What makes Gina's surprise ball special is its unique sense of style. A collector of vintage toys, Gina generously hides precious items collected from around the world within. Each one brings a sense of nostalgia, as if you’ve unexpectedly found a treasure you thought you lost in childhood, delivering surprise and joy. And the use of colorful tape that seems to stretch for dozens of meters. The mountain of unwrapped tape resembles an installation.
To wrap more than 20 toys, the carefully calculated order and method of wrapping is a skill only mastered through experience. Whether as a surprise gift for someone special or a treat for yourself, I hope you first enjoy looking at it for a while. And when you open it, I hope you share that moment with as many people as possible. It’s guaranteed to make everyone present happy.
