Wunderkammer FUKUOKA will participate in the first Fukuoka Art Book Fair held at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine starting today.
In conjunction with the book fair, we will exhibit collage works created by Thomas Kong, the owner and artist of the convenience store "Kims' Corner Food" that once existed in the suburbs of Chicago, using packaging from his store, and we will also sell a collection of works related to the fair.
With Akira Kuroki, who published the collection titled "Be Happy" that shares the same title as the exhibition, as the curator, artist Chie Miyazaki has specially produced a piece about the now-defunct KIM'S CORNER FOOD (not for sale). At Wunderkammer Paper, we have extensively discussed the story leading up to the creation of the collection from the meeting between Kuroki and Thomas. Please read that before viewing the exhibition.
