While continuing to create what is known as down,
most of the down jackets you might imagine are zip-up styles filled with cotton and have either a hood or a stand collar.
So, I wondered what it would be like to make a coat type using down, perhaps made from melton or wool materials.

The key feature is that it can be made very lightweight, and with PERTEX, the water-repellent functionality is excellent.
Considering these features, since this design does not have buttons, I thought it would be easier to coordinate and use in various ways.
However, creating this was quite challenging.
It ended up being quite puffy, and we produced samples two or three times before arriving at the final product.
By the way, the gram weight varies from the collar to just above the elbow.
We gradually changed the gram weight, dismantled a sample, and repeatedly tested to see how much would look beautiful on the body,
ultimately reaching a point where we thought this might be good, and now the factory is making the product.

This might have given the impression of being quite puffy during the look, but since I've confirmed it with my own eyes, I believe the product will look beautiful.
Creating something like this is quite difficult with just patterns,
and simply calculating how much cotton in grams to use overall can be misleading,
as we adjust the gram weight considering the shoulders and other areas.
This was the most challenging part as I had never done anything like it before.
As long as it protects the neck, I think it’s fine,
and you can wear it in this stand collar style,
or casually open it up, so personally, I think it’s surprisingly versatile.
I’m looking forward to receiving the product as I plan to buy it myself.
