In the 19th century, many people migrated to Tasmania from England. John and Eliza, the founders of Blundstone, also crossed over to Tasmania with hope. They started an import business for shoes in Hobart, the largest city. Later, they began producing original products using Tasmanian leather. It is easy to imagine that during this pioneering era, Blundstone's tough boots and shoes provided a sense of security to people's feet.
Blundstone, which supplied boots to the Australian Army during World War II. The reason for this can be attributed to their toughness that allows for long-term wear and the comfortable fit that does not burden the feet.
Supporting that toughness is the robust leather upper, and the comfort is created by the highly elastic side gore. Not only is it easy to put on and take off, but the rubber also adapts to various movements, achieving a level of flexibility that is unexpected in leather boots.
The sole is attached using an injection method, where heated material is poured into a mold and combined with the upper. Because there are no seams, it is effective in preventing water from entering through the sole. Additionally, the high grip and stable walking ability are attractive features. Furthermore, the high-performance cushioning material, XRD®, used in the heel effectively absorbs shock.
Moreover, the outsole is made of thermoplastic polyurethane material, which is resistant to deterioration from water, oil, bacteria, and acid. It boasts high durability, even withstanding high temperatures of 140°C.
Originally designed as work boots, they are strong against heat and rain, boasting specifications that allow them to function as rain boots in outdoor scenes.
The long-selling model “#510 CLASSICS” and the short model “#1610 LOW-CUT,” which was released last year as a Japan-specific design. Available colors are “Voltan Black” and “Stout Brown.”
