ALOHA BLOSSOM
Where there is Re:luxe There is Relax
"luxe" originally means "luxury" in French and Latin. We believe that finding what you like and what is "luxury" for you, not limited to high-end brand items, is the true essence of "luxury". Everyone has their own unique values regarding things. We think that by exploring and pursuing your own "luxury", you can discover "Re luxe", or true luxury. The "Relax" that is guided by true luxury, "Re luxe", is the most important point for Aloha Blossom. By wearing Aloha Blossom, we hope that your everyday life can become a little more pleasant, and that not only you but everyone around you can be happy. It is our joy at Aloha Blossom to help you achieve "true luxury" that liberates your heart and body.
Mingei Okumura
We operate the lifestyle goods store "Mingei Okumura", focusing on handmade items collected from Japan and around the world. "Mingei = Folk Craft" is a term created by Yanagi Soetsu in the mid-1920s. Yanagi argued that practical crafts made by unknown artisans possess beauty that rivals fine art. Mingei has a healthy beauty that is not found in craft items or fine art meant for appreciation, separate from their use. Mingei Okumura is a store that seeks and proposes "Mingei" that fits the current era and lifestyle.
Kaji工紅型工房
Kaji工 Osamu
Graduated from Okinawa University in 2003, completed training in the Bingata Association successor training project.
Joined the Chinen Bingata Research Institute in 2004, apprenticed under the late Chinen Sadao.
Left in 2015 and established Kaji工紅型 in 2015.
From 2016, instructor of Bingata techniques at the Okinawa Prefectural Craft Promotion Center. Bingata was originally worn by the royal family and samurai class for ceremonial and formal occasions during the Ryukyu Dynasty, and its coloring primarily uses pigments. The techniques are broadly divided into two: "stencil dyeing" and "tube dyeing". Through exchanges with the Japanese mainland, China, and Southeast Asia, dyeing techniques were learned and developed through various trials and errors by predecessors, and the fabric was also valued as trade and gift items with other countries. Although there were crises of extinction due to the collapse of the royal government, wars, and various difficulties, it has been restored and developed through the tireless efforts of many people, and the techniques have been passed down to the present day. Bingata is a dyeing craft that has been nurtured by the long history, climate, and people of Okinawa, and is something to be proud of in the world.
