On November 13, 2020 (Friday), a capsule collection resulting from the first collaboration between TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance and OVERCOAT will be released at Dice and Dice stores and online.
OVERCOAT was founded by designer Ryuhei Daimaru, based in New York, with the concept of "Wearing New York." The collection, liberated from size, gender, and age, boasts a solid popularity at Dice and Dice.
In this collaboration, both brands respect each other's approach to craftsmanship, merging the logically designed patterns of OVERCOAT with the functionality and quality that New Balance has cultivated over 114 years. This collection adds a new standard to classic items that transcend eras and seasons, incorporating changes in materials and pattern making.
The R_C1300, announced as a new model from TDS in 2020, features the Classic model 1300, representative of New Balance, on the upper, and the latest technology R_C4 in the sole unit, making it one of New Balance's most popular models today.
OVERCOAT×TDS R_C1300 ¥30,000 + TAX
In this collaboration, the R_C1300 is based on a unique "cut-out" design for the upper. While maintaining the original design, it pursues minimalism to the extreme by cutting out the surface of a single piece of leather to express the original pattern, and by eliminating layers to achieve a comfortable fit. The base layer peeking through the gaps of the surface parts is treated with high-brightness reflective material.
Using a special sheet-like material, New Balance's technology "NB HEAT" ensures lightweight and high thermal insulation. In this instance, we developed an original material by bonding "NB HEAT" with air mesh that excels in moisture absorption and quick drying, making it even more comfortable. Based on this material, OVERCOAT created two types of outerwear with unique pattern making.
The cape shoulder hooded jacket features a continuous upper body at the front and back, with the lower body structured in a T-shape, and slits under the sleeves designed to function as ventilation. This logical structure is precisely what OVERCOAT excels at. It is a waist-length parka-type jacket that is easy to coordinate, characterized by a large hood that envelops the head like a cape.

The oversized shirt jacket is intentionally designed to be worn as a coat, using patterns traditionally used for shirts.
