Buyer's note / New York
2015.08.19 / OTHERS
The feeling of Dice and Dice in New York is definitely artistic.
Of course, most of the items we source for the store are clothes, but New York is a place where you can encounter brands and things that evoke art, and meet various people.
During this season, many fashion professionals from Europe and Japan gather to exchange information for the next season. From the center of men's fashion to a bit behind the scenes... these are photos taken not with a usual smartphone, but with a disposable camera. It's just a small part, but please take a look.
Recently, we had a DJ performance by the real New Yorker "Nicholas Taylor a.k.a DJ High Priest," also known as Nick, at Dice and Dice in Tokyo and Fukuoka. I was overwhelmed to hear memories of Basquiat and his bossa nova performances at his home. Tears

The classic Katz's Delicatessen, which I love, made Nick chuckle a bit when I mentioned it (I wonder why).

Mr. Paul, who speaks fluent Japanese. New brands are expected to arrive soon from his showroom.

My comrade of 10 years, David from Maharishi, and the big name in NY, Macnairy.

A certain shop staff, so cute...

The globally renowned artist "JR," who established his popularity in Japan with an exhibition at the Watarium Museum in 2013, is currently working on new pieces on Lafayette Street.

The view from the SATURDAYS SURF NYC office offers a panoramic view of New York from downtown.

Mr. Onozaki from TOMO&CO, which is also handled by Dice, is sending messages to the world.

At the HAPTIC LAB office. Currently working on new pieces.

WINGS&HORNS, which is gaining popularity at Dice, is holding an exhibition in the Chelsea area lined with galleries.

New York always looks to new things while being based on the good old ones.
Of course, there is also a lot of art around the city!

Finally, a big thank you to Akiko, the journalist based in NY, Shinya, the designer of BATTEN WEAR, and my friend Daisuke in NY.
We went to an izakaya called Nippori in New York. Haha
Thank you for the treat, Shinya!
