In the first chapter of the long-term partnership between the global athletic brand New Balance and Stone Island, we reinterpret New Balance's innovative footwear, the "RC ELITE," which is designed for racing and training performance shoes. Both brands share the same values in research and functionality in their respective fields, creating data-driven innovative designs through an analytical approach. Beyond trends, New Balance and Stone Island together create the best products in unprecedented creative ways.









The new upper structure boasts extremely high breathability, expressed through a combination of contrasting elements: the classic footwear design elements represented by New Balance's "574" and cutting-edge materials and technologies featuring 3D mesh structures and 3D logos. The midsole uses the latest ultra-lightweight FuelCell technology and a carbon fiber plate, designed to provide propulsion and the best energy return for functional performance in all directions, allowing for fast running over any distance. It features a racing-compatible vamp (the top part of the foot) that is very thin and ensures the best breathability, thanks to a lightweight midfoot structure with a 3D knit. The strategically expressed graphics on the inside and outside, created with 3D printing technology, feature the right foot with New Balance's flying NB logo and the left foot with Stone Island's compass logo.





New Balance FuelCell RC ELITE
The "FuelCell" series, developed in collaboration with athletes at the New Balance factory's innovation lab in the U.S. starting in 2017. To create the ultimate shoe for runners from scratch, we prototyped dozens of designs based on performance data from Jenny Simpson, a world-class middle-distance runner on Team NB, testing new designs and materials. This led to the birth of the midsole material "FuelCell foam," which has the highest rebound elasticity in New Balance. The "FuelCell RC ELITE," born in 2020, offers a bouncy running feel, lightweight suitable for marathon racing, grip that accelerates running, and smooth landings. It features a lightweight and highly responsive "FuelCell" midsole, designed for top athletes to wear in serious races. The integrated carbon fiber plate in the sole generates propulsion and supports the runner. The upper adopts a 3D knit mesh structure that does not sacrifice comfort during races, fitting the foot and reducing stress. The midsole features a cut-out design for visibility of the carbon plate and an outsole that is greatly hollowed out for weight reduction and improved traction.
