& DICE & DICE supported by TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance (hereinafter TDSNBXDXD) held an installation by architect and ATELIER WRITE representative Takuya Sakamoto from February 11 (Friday) to April 4 (Monday).

The "dyeing" technique is applied to industrial products, using eco-friendly dyes for textiles as fixtures on chrome pipes. Unlike paint that covers the material, this method colors while preserving the texture of the material, ensuring that the crystalline patterns typically lost in conventional color chrome or paint remain intact through dyeing. Additionally, the pipes are dyed in different colors at both ends, overlapping in the center. The natural mixing due to overlapping dyeing is also one of the dyeing expression techniques. A gradient was created by gradually adding dye over time. By using subtractive primary colors C (Cyan), M (Magenta), and Y (Yellow), brightness is brought to the overall piece, similar to the logo.
Focusing on chrome pipes originally used in horticulture and agriculture, this unprecedented installation was realized in collaboration with Takashi Takamoto, the first staff member of Schema Architectural Planning.
