TDSNBXDXD presents art installation “Dynamesh” by Heijiro Yagi Announcement

2022.09.03 / OTHERS

& DICE & DICE supported by TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance will hold an installation titled "Dynamesh" by graphic designer Heijiro Yagi from September 7 (Wed) to September 26 (Mon). The term "Dynamesh," which is also the title of the exhibition, refers to a feature in the 3DCG software that Yagi usually uses, allowing for the construction of 3D model structures as needed and the manipulation of the resolution of 3D models uniformly. This time, based on the original posters created using this software, we will further manipulate the ink itself (mixing and separating colors) manually on the printing machine to create works that apply the effects of "Dynamesh" to the images (posters). We will display posters, each with a different expression created through both digital and physical processing, along with the production process. Additionally, we will create art pieces of shopping bags newly molded from these posters. During the period, we will provide these shopping bags for free to customers who purchase New Balance products at the DICE & DICE store. Just like the anecdote of ukiyo-e being used as wrapping paper and transmitted to the West, this installation attempts to transform the shopping bag itself into a medium of announcement, aiming for a new expansion of resolution. We hope you will stop by.
