The feature page 'What the Inoue Brothers Want to Convey' has also received positive feedback, and a new short film from The Inoue Brothers has arrived.
This third installment expresses the partnership between The Inoue Brothers and the Pacomarca Alpaca Research Institute in the highlands of Peru for the first time in video form. Please take a moment to experience the Andean atmosphere felt through this 5-minute film.
(In this article, we have transcribed the text that flows in the video for a more thorough reading.)

For over 5,000 years, the indigenous people of the Andes have raised alpacas for fine wool. The Incas, who once ruled the Andes, spun excellent yarn to create luxurious textiles. Today, most alpacas are owned by small family-run ranchers living in the most rural areas of the Andes. The indigenous people of the Andes are among the poorest in South America, and their way of life has been threatened by a lack of support, investment, and neglect.

The Inoue Brothers have established a partnership with the Pacomarca Alpaca Research Institute in the highlands of Peru. The goal is to assist local ranchers in successfully benefiting from their way of life.

"I am Flores Condori Francisco. I have been raising alpacas in the countryside for nearly 30 years. Before that, I worked in the jungle and did various jobs. I was also a truck driver and a bus conductor. But now I am completely devoted to the countryside. Here, there is grass and water. Nature provides for the alpacas, sheep, cows, and horses. There isn't a lot of grass, but we make sacrifices to take care of livestock in the countryside. Even when it's cold or raining. So when we sell wool, buyers should pay a fair value.

I think Pacomarca is a gift for the children. When I get older, I will tell my children and grandchildren that I learned what a wonderful breed of alpaca is at Pacomarca.

The days go by and the weather changes. The changes in weather are drastic. Everything keeps changing, so we must look forward. There is no turning back. That's how it is."

The Pacomarca Research Institute is located in the southern part of Puno, in the heart of Peru's alpaca grazing region. It is situated at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, one of the most remote places on earth.

The purpose of the institute is to benefit all people involved in the alpaca supply chain. It focuses particularly on the thousands of families who make a living by raising alpacas in the harsh environment of the Andean highlands.

Established in 2000 in response to the decline in the quality of alpaca wool, extensive research by the institute has revealed that improving the quality of life for herders is essential to ensure high-quality wool production.

Based on this important understanding, Pacomarca has initiated a unique community project called "Pastoral Huts." This project recognizes the true value of herders in the local natural environment and is currently being seriously considered by local governments.

Through education and commitment that promotes human development, Pacomarca supports herders in responding to modern social and environmental impacts, enabling them to benefit from their way of life.

Pacomarca helps herders ensure they receive the most appropriate price for their wool by teaching basic shearing and sorting techniques.
