(Mohair) is different from straight, smooth wool or cashmere because it has a bit of fluffiness, making it a material that easily conveys the winter atmosphere. I want to create a material that embodies this feeling. It will be a texture that is typically used in BATONER, blending wool, mohair, and alpaca, which are classic winter materials, in a unique ratio to combine the strengths of each material in a well-balanced way.
MOHAIR NORDIC CREW NECK / BLACK
To better utilize the characteristics of this material, I create Nordic sweaters every season. For this year's model, I have designed the colors to be simpler and easier to incorporate into styling, creating patterns with 3 or 4 colors each year. This year, the colors are white and black, making it easy to wear in a more mature style.
(The pattern selection) is based on patterns that were done decades ago in the archives, ensuring they don't become too traditional. I have arranged them in my own style to create original patterns that match the texture better.
MOHAIR NORDIC CREW NECK / IVORY
What is commonly referred to as a mohair sweater often uses synthetic fibers like nylon or polyester to express fluffiness or to reduce costs. While they are collectively called mohair sweaters, the ratios differ, and many only contain about 10% mohair. I want to be particular about using natural materials for the connections as well. By doing so, it is of course a material that is environmentally friendly, and when worn, it has the soft and non-itchy characteristics unique to natural materials. This series is composed entirely of natural materials, which I have always been particular about.
