WEST POINT OVERSIZED TRENCH COAT
This is a complete reproduction of the legendary trench coat material 'West Point' that was developed by EITON in the 2017 Spring/Summer collection, after two years of analysis and prototyping. Only carefully selected cotton from California is used as the raw material, with special yarn spun at a spinning factory in Sennan City, Osaka, and the yarn dyed and woven in the Bishu region, slowly and meticulously crafted on a shuttle loom, creating EITON's original material.
*After World War II, it is said that the highest peak of Japanese spinning technology was used to create uniforms presented to General MacArthur. The fabric, known as the legendary material 'West Point', was made by tracing the recipes from 15 to 20 years ago at the spinning factory. We searched for dead stock of the fabric made at that time and produced only 40 trench coats in the 2017 Spring/Summer collection.
*Cotton 'San Joaquin Cotton' from California's San Joaquin Valley. This area has ideal conditions for cotton cultivation, with abundant sunlight, rich snowmelt water from the Sierra Nevada, and fertile soil. The San Joaquin cotton grown here is known for its long fibers and uniform quality, trusted as the cleanest cotton in the world. It features a soft texture, excellent color fastness, and water absorption, and withstands frequent use and washing without losing its feel.
The trench coat was born during World War I as one of the long coats worn by British and French army officers to protect themselves from rain and cold in the trenches. EITON's trench coat is based on trench coats from about 100 years ago, realizing precious details from that time while updating the design to suit modern environments. The collar features a foldable windproof strap that can be stored, and even when the waist belt is tightened, the soft fabric creates a beautiful silhouette. The sleeve straps use easy-to-remove and easy-to-secure snap fasteners. This is a classic EITON trench coat that looks great even when taken off.
