The name 'Spomenik' refers to the monumental architecture of the former Yugoslavia that the designer encountered while wandering through Eastern Europe. The overwhelming presence of these structures, quietly standing in nature, embodies various emotions interpreted as symbols of reconciliation, creating pants that become a part of one’s life story, unraveling history and crossing into the future.
The product line is inspired by the architectural design of Spomenik and the desire to utilize the wonderful archives and deadstock fabrics lying dormant in factories. By combining fabrics and patterns with various approaches, we reinterpret and revive them for modern times. Like a culinary marriage of ingredients, we mix sophistication with the inherent quality and rustic charm of the materials, creating products that feel fresh over time and can be cherished for years to come.
