Announcement of the Release of the TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance TDS 574 & Garment Dye Apparel Capsule Collection

On May 7, 2021 (Friday), TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance launched a capsule collection featuring 1 type of footwear and 3 types of apparel.
The footwear reinterprets the "574," which was born in the 1980s and has become the most popular iconic model representing New Balance. The latest model, the "TDS 574," will be unveiled for the first time in the world. While preserving the classic design codes of New Balance footwear, it adds a modern reinterpretation, combining high design quality with comfortable wear thanks to the latest technology. It is a new, authentic footwear that allows for the discovery of fun, free styling, regardless of categories like sneakers or dress shoes. Additionally, the apparel developed by TDS, inspired by New Balance's established craftsmanship in footwear, features a collection of garment-dyed heavyweight dry cut-and-sewn pieces that balance classic style with the comfort of functional materials. This time, we are proposing two types of tops and one type of pants in unisex patterns and silhouettes.
Garment Dye Heavy Weight Dry Cut & Sewn
The TDS standard cut-and-sewn fabric, blended with functional yarn, is resistant to deformation even after repeated washing and excels in moisture absorption and quick drying. Each piece is carefully product-dyed and undergoes bio-processing, resulting in a soft texture despite its heavyweight.
TDS Garment Dye Heavy Weight Dry Hoodie
This oversized fit features raglan sleeves, making it suitable for anyone regardless of gender or body type. The double-stitched neckline creates a beautifully raised silhouette for the hood, and the drawcord inspired by shoelaces adds thoughtful details throughout. Additionally, the cut-off details at the hem and sleeves enhance the lightness of the design.

TDS Multi - Functional Socks
Made from a blended yarn of polyester / nylon / other fibers with moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties, these socks prevent dampness and keep your footwear comfortable at all times. Additionally, by technically adjusting the knit of the socks by parts, they ensure breathability in the instep area, which tends to heat up when wearing footwear, allowing for cooling, and support the arch and heel to improve performance during wear. Furthermore, the cushioning function of the sole is expected to reduce fatigue during long wear. The simple and standard design features a fluorescent yellow accent on the back of the rib, adding an urban touch. In addition to the classic colors of white and black, new colors of light blue and beige grey have been released.
