This special item is made from thick yarn knitted at a density twice that of a regular HOODIE in Wakayama, treated with natural dye. By knitting at high density, not only is the durability of the fabric ensured, but it also undergoes product dyeing and thorough washing, preventing shrinkage even when put in the dryer. The inner fleece has a three-layer structure connecting the surface, back, and the middle layer. This structure significantly improves the stretch of the fabric, allowing it to hold plenty of air in between, making it warmer with ATON's original fleece material.
*'NATURAL DYE' refers to dyeing using dyes made from flowers, leaves, stems, bark, peels, or minerals, employing a robust technique that does not use mordants. Normally, when dyeing with plant-based dyes, vibrant colors cannot be achieved, resulting in muted tones or color fading. ATON uses a unique Japanese dyeing method that overcomes these issues, allowing you to experience the product through both the brain and skin with 'NATURAL DYE'.

This trench coat, developed in the 2017SS collection by ATON, is a complete reproduction of the elusive trench coat material 'West Point' after two years of analysis and prototyping. Only the finest cotton from California is used as the raw material, specially spun at a spinning factory in Sennan City, Osaka, and woven slowly and carefully on a shuttle loom in the Banshu region, creating ATON's original material.
*After World War II, it is said that the highest peak of Japanese spinning technology was used to present uniforms to General MacArthur. The elusive material 'West Point' was created by tracing the recipes from 15 to 20 years ago at the spinning factory. We searched for dead stock of the fabric made at that time and produced only 40 trench coats in the 2017SS collection.
*Cotton 'Sanforized Cotton' from California's San Joaquin Valley. This area has ideal conditions for cotton cultivation, with abundant sunlight, rich snowmelt water from the Sierra Nevada, and fertile soil. The San Joaquin cotton grown here is known for its long fibers and uniform quality, trusted as the cleanest cotton in the world. It features a soft texture, excellent color retention, and durability, maintaining its quality even after frequent washing.
The trench coat was born during World War I as one of the long coats worn by British and French army officers to protect themselves from rain and cold in the trenches. ATON's trench coat is based on trench coats from about 100 years ago, incorporating valuable details from that time while updating the design for modern environments. The collar has a foldable windbreaker strap stored within, and even when the waist belt is tightened, the soft fabric creates a beautiful silhouette. The sleeve straps use easy-to-remove and attach snap fasteners. This trench coat is stylish even when taken off, making it a classic ATON piece.

The nylon woven in the Hokuriku region is dyed by artisans using Narumi shibori dyeing. Unlike the mass production processes done by machines, each piece is carefully dyed and finished by the hands of shibori artisans, resulting in a natural and delicate texture that feels great against the skin, making it an original ATON material.
