ATON - NATURAL DYED URAKE OVERSIZED SWEAT SHIRT
This is a classic ATON sweatshirt inspired by vintage college trainers sold at a university purchasing department in Los Angeles in the 1970s. The cuffs are designed with a triangular rib to prevent the concentration of force at a single point, resulting in a functional yet stylish design. The 'A' mark on the chest is made of flocking, giving it a velvet-like texture that won't peel off.
This special item is made from jersey knitted in Wakayama with a thick yarn at double the usual density, treated with NATURAL DYE. By knitting at a high density, the durability of the fabric is enhanced, and thanks to the product dyeing and thorough washing process, it does not shrink even when put in the dryer. The back pile features a three-layer structure: the surface, the back, and the connecting layer in between. This design allows for ample air to be trapped within, significantly improving the stretch of the fabric and making it warmer, resulting in ATON's original back pile material.

Dyes are created from the flowers, leaves, stems, bark, peels of fruits, or minerals using new ideas and techniques, dyed using a robust technique that does not involve mordants. Typically, in plant dyeing, where pigments are extracted from plants, vibrant colors may not be achievable, resulting in muted tones or color fading. ATON overcomes these issues with a unique Japanese dyeing method, ensuring that the products can be experienced both mentally and physically through 'NATURAL DYE'.
