About Baby Alpaca
Baby alpaca uses the first cut of hair from alpacas under one year old, and it is among the top three qualities in the alpaca market. Micron count (0.001 mm): 22-23 microns. The fibers are slightly thicker than royal alpaca, which enhances durability, making it suitable for casual items. Alpacas raised in natural environments possess many functions in their hair to survive harsh conditions. It has self-cleaning properties and reduces body odor when exposed to air. Additionally, to cope with drastic external temperature changes, the hollow structure of the hair provides temperature regulation. Compared to wool and other animal hairs, the scales (the outer layer of hair) are finer and fewer, which helps prevent pilling.
