What is baby alpaca?
Baby alpaca uses the first cut of hair from alpacas under one year old, and it is among the top three qualities in the alpaca market. Micron count (0.001 mm): 22-23 microns. The fibers are slightly thicker than royal alpaca, which makes them particularly durable, suitable for casual items. Alpacas raised in natural environments have many functions in their hair to survive harsh conditions. They have a self-cleaning function and can reduce body odor when exposed to air. Additionally, to cope with external temperature changes, the hollow structure of the hair has temperature-regulating properties. Compared to wool and other animal hairs, the scales (the outer layer of the hair) are finer and less numerous, which makes them less prone to pilling.
